Considerations when choosing a tree

As well as providing fruit, your tree will be a decorative feature. It can provide shelter; can act as a screen and sound barrier; provide shade and attract wildlife.

Ensure the tree you choose is appropriate for your space and intended use.

Is the tree of your choice self fertile, or will it need a pollinating partner?

Remember that some varieties have ornamental value in their fruits and blossom.

Take care if the site is north facing or exposed – factors which will limit your choice.

Consider the size and research available rootstocks.

Plan for the eventual height and spread of your tree as it matures and reaches its full size.

Our dedicated team at Grow can answer all these questions and assist you in making the best choice to suit your needs and space.
