Ashmead’s Kernel

SKU: Ashmeads Kernel Categories: ,

According to The Herefordshire Pomana, circa 1880 this variety is “firm, crisp, juicy, sugary, rich and highly aromatic… it should be found in every garden,” we agree! Raised in Gloucestershire around 1700, this has a rich golden brown semi-russeted skin with firm flesh. Sweet flavour with some russeting, known as the connoisseur’s apple!  Self-sterile
