Found in California c1930 and introduced into the UK in 1960. It produces a very large oval fruit with a blue-black skin. The flesh is yellow and juicy. Considered primarily as a culinary variety but quite sweet and pleasant as a dessert variety when fully ripe. Crops are very heavy and reliable, following on from Victoria. Growth is quite vigorous and spreading. Self-fertile
