Ellisons Orange (D)

Raised by Rev. C.C. Ellison, introduced in 1911.  Golden fruits flushed and striped red, of medium size, round, slightly conical and with flat ends. Moderate, upright growth, with slender branches. Apples very juicy and richly flavoured when fully ripe, a reliable cropper and the flower resists Spring frosts. Parents to Cox Orange Pippin and Calville Blanc D’Hiver. Although it is said to have an aniseed flavour we have found this not to be the case.
