General Leclerc pears are European, and are believed to be descended from the Doyenne du Comice pear. They have yellow skin that is covered with brown russeting. Its flesh is crisp, white and juicy. They are sweet with a very good flavor.
Developed by the Fruit Research Station of Angers, France, it was named after World War II French hero Jacque Philippe Leclerc.
